Louise & David, A Cheshire Wedding!
It was a cloudy start to what was going to be the perfect day for the amazing Louise & David, who were tying the knot at the beautiful St Martins Church, following on to celebrate in Wilmslow at The Airport Inn Hotel, even with the rain, it did not stop them having the most fun and magical day with their nearest and dearest!
When I arrived at the venue, it was so obvious how much thought and effort Louise & David had put into their wedding day, with some cute and quirky details such as conkers in the centrepieces (not just because it was Autumn) but also because David’s nickname was Conkey! Genius!
There was also the insanely gorgeous handfasting ceremony conducted by Louise’s mum the very talented Sue Williamson, which was super personal and intimate!
It was clear to see that David & Louise were completely made for each other, being so natural together and there were many emotions and tears on the day from them and their guests which confirmed they agreed just how much of a perfect match they are!
It is hard to put into words how much of a fun and crazy day it was so I will let the pictures do the talking, plus here are some words from Louise about planning your wedding and just how she and David met!
How did you meet/How long have you been together:
We met on Plenty of Fish and then arranged to meet for a coffee in Costa Altrincham. We have been together for 4 and a half years.
How did he propose:
It was our 4th anniversary so we had booked the day off. The weather was a clear sky and bright sunshine but being February, it was cold!! We decided (David decided!) we should go to Tatton Park for a walk. Unknown to me David had the engagement ring with him and was going to pop the question in Tatton. He kept asking me to stop and look at the view (it was pretty great with it being so clear and bright). It was really windy though, so I kept moving to keep warm!
In the end, we got back home and I walked into the lounge to our song playing with David down on one knee!
Any DIY personal touches:
We have done quite a few things ourselves!
We saved coffee jars and put lace around them with ribbon (the same colour as the bridesmaid dresses.)
We made our own table plan from a mirror and lots of flowers from the range!
We made our own confetti from drying petals, and placed these into homemade confetti cones – doilies are great!
Conkers were saved for the table plan as David’s nickname from his friends is Conks/Conkey.
We have done our own photo booth with selfie frame and a sweetie table. Our cards were put into a blue vintage suitcase of my mum’s with a card bunting across the open lid.
Planning tips:
Try to remember that the wedding is about you and your husband/wife to be and you can’t please everyone – even I am still trying to do this with 4 and a bit weeks to go!
Make as much as you can as it does save money…though I will admit it does not save time and like me, you may end up stuck to something!
Get your friends to help you make things as my maid of honour did for me, she was a lifesaver!
